1. Introduction

By participating in any Scopitones Auction (the "Auction"), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. This auction is conducted by Scopitones ("we," "us," or "our") via the website www.scopitones.co.uk.

2. Eligibility and Registration
Bidders must be 18 years of age or older.

To place a bid, you must have a valid account on the Scopitones website with up-to-date contact and billing information.

We reserve the right to refuse or cancel bids from any person at our absolute discretion.

3. Bidding Process

Opening Bid: The auction will begin at the reserve price indicated on the product page.

Increments: Bids must be placed in the increments specified on the auction listing.

Binding Offer: Every bid placed constitutes a legally binding contract to purchase the item if you are the winning bidder. Bids cannot be retracted once placed.

Auction Duration: The auction will end at the date and time specified on the listing page.

"Sniper" Protection: To ensure fairness, if a bid is placed within the final 5 minutes of the auction, the closing time may be automatically extended by an additional 5 minutes to allow other bidders to respond.

4. Winning Bid and Payment
The winning bidder will be the person who has placed the highest bid at the point of closing, provided the reserve price has been met.

The winner will be notified via email within 24 hours of the auction closing.

Payment Deadline: Full payment, including shipping costs, must be made within 24 hours of the auction's end. Payment must be made via the checkout link provided or through the standard Scopitones shop payment methods.

Failure to pay within the specified timeframe may result in the item being offered to the next highest bidder or relisted, and your account may be suspended or closed.

5. The Items
Condition: Any items in a Sopitones Auction are sold "as is." While we endeavor to provide accurate descriptions and photographs, no warranty is provided regarding musical playability or technical condition, beyond that which is in the listing.

Provenance: Where specified, the item may include a certificate of authenticity or a signed note from David Gedge/Scopitones. Please refer to the specific item description for details.

6. Shipping and Insurance
Unless specified in the listing, shipping costs are not included in the bid price and will be calculated based on the winner's location.

Scopitones is not responsible for any customs duties or import taxes incurred for international shipping; these are the sole responsibility of the buyer.

7. Returns and Refunds
All sales are final. Exchanges or refunds are not permitted unless the item is significantly and demonstrably different from the description provided.

8. Limitation of Liability
Scopitones shall not be liable for any technical failures, internet disruptions, or website downtime that prevents a bid from being submitted or processed.

In the event of a dispute regarding a bid, the decision of Scopitones is final and binding.
